Description
- Tequila 1940 features a traditional artisanal process where mature agaves are cooked in clay oven at 30 hours of direct steam at lower pressure, slower cooking, 24 hours of rest, and 18 hours of cooling.
It has a natural slow fermentation with a unique yeast exclusive to Casa Campo Azul and a slow distillation in stainless steel stills with a copper interior. It is aged in exhausted white American oak barrels that previously only aged tequila. - PRODUCTION DETAILS

- About Campo Azul
- It starts with the first generation of agave producers in Casa Campo Azul, around the 1960s. They decided to dedicate their lives to growing agave inside Jesus Maria, Jalisco. Many years later, in 1996, Casa Campo Azul Distillery was inaugurated under the shelter of Productos Finos de Agave. Nowadays, it’s the third generation of the family the one that runs the company and it maintains their own agave sowings guaranteeing the quality of the plant.
